Energy Monitoring and Smart Home Energy

You cannot manage what you cannot see. We set up real-time monitoring so you know what you generate, store and use, and what it is saving you*.

See Your Energy in Real Time

One app shows solar production, battery charge, home use and grid draw. You can spot the appliances that cost the most and move them to the hours your panels work hardest.

Most households find two or three habits that account for a large share of their evening bill. Once you can see them, they are easy to change.

What the App Shows You

Monitoring is included with the systems we install on solar and battery storage.

ReadingWhat it tells youWhat to do with it
Solar productionHow much your panels make, hour by hourRun the dishwasher, washing machine and pool pump at midday
Battery stateCharge level and when it fills and emptiesCheck whether it lasts to bedtime
Home useWhere the power goesFind standby loads and old appliances
Grid import and exportWhat you buy and what you send backTest whether a bigger or smaller system makes sense
03

Get More From Your Battery

Monitoring helps you tune when the battery charges and discharges around your real routine, so more of your evening runs on stored solar and less on peak-rate grid power.

If you are choosing a size, the data from a few months of monitoring is the best evidence you can have. It is also how we check a large battery is being used, which matters on the bigger home battery size guide.

Ready for Smart Control and Virtual Power Plants

A connected system is the base for time-of-use optimisation, EV charging that follows solar, and virtual power plant (VPP) programs. Rules and payments vary by program and state, and some programs limit which batteries can join. Check the current terms before you sign up.

To qualify for the federal battery discount, a battery must meet the program's requirements, including a compatible, connected setup. The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water lists the current eligibility rules, and our rebates and incentives guide explains how they fit together.

05

Works With Your Other Upgrades

Monitoring is most useful when it sees everything. Add an EV charger to watch charging follow your solar, or a heat pump to see hot water heated at midday.

Questions

Common Questions

01Do I Need Monitoring If I Already Have Solar?
Many existing systems already have basic monitoring through the inverter app. We can check what you have and tell you honestly whether an upgrade is worth it.
02Can I See It on My Phone?
Yes. The apps we set up work on phones and tablets, and you can view them from anywhere with internet.
03Does It Work Without Wi-Fi?
The system keeps running without internet, but live monitoring and some features need a connection. A stable connection near the inverter is best.
04Can Monitoring Lower My Bill?
Monitoring does not cut your bill by itself. It shows you where the power goes so you can change when you use it. We do not promise a saving.
